Uganda To Carry Out Free COVID19 Test At Boarder Points
After a joint Multi-Sectoral Virtual Meeting for the Ministers responsible for East African Community Affairs
it has been agreed in order to deal with backlog of trucks at border points, Government of Uganda through its Ministry of Health its to test truck drivers for free using RDT method for a start of a period of seven days and there after a metering to review the process will be held. this comes after truck drivers at boarders points contested to pay a fee of $30 before they could access Uganda and this has taken a period of time till today when the Ministers responsible for east African Community Affairs found a solution to smoothen trade at boarder points en-route Uganda.
Uganda, in the virtual meeting was represented by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East African Community Affairs in Uganda Rt. Hon. Dr. Alitwala Rebecca Kadaga (MP), Minister of Health- Dr. Aceng Ruth, Minister of Works,Transport- Gen Katumba Wamala and officers from work related Agencies.
