Add French on The Languages You Speak- 1st DPM
This morning The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Of East African Community Affairs in Uganda , Rt. Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga (MP) hosted the President and members of the Association of Teachers of French in Uganda. Agatha Tumwine, Dr. Achero, and Niriyinda , following up on the Decision of the Summit of the East African Community Heads of State to adopt french as an official language of the Community, during the 41st Meeting of the East African Community Council of Ministers meeting, The Emeritus of the 9th and 10th recommended to the council to endorse Democratic Republic of Congo to the block. and french be adopted as a second language in the East African Community. Members of the Association of Teachers of French briefed the Minister about the institutions offering French and challenges facing French in Uganda.
The First deputy Prime Minister promised to put her wisdom on the challenges that the association face and also discussed modalities of implementation that more institutions most especially public embrace french language in their curriculum.
