Monitor the performance of Customs Union

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East Africa Community Affairs in Uganda Rt Hon |Dr. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga (MP) officiated the closing ceremony of the Inter- Parliamentary games in Arusha as one of the Guest Speakers of the evening. in her closing remarks, Rt. Hon REBECCA Kadaga said that the next Parliamentary games might have a new member DR Congo and among the challenges the Minister singled out was the use of French in the games. during the recent 41st Council of Ministers Meeting in Arusha, it was agreed and stamped that French is an official language in the community.

The Minister advised the East African Community Parliamentarians that’s its important for them to monitor the performance of the customs union as well as the five freedoms : free movement of capital, services, labour, goods, persons and rights of residence and establishment
