H.E Zhang Lizhong calls on the First Deputy Premier
Earlier on this morning the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda H.E Zhang Lizhong called on the First Deputy Prime Minister | Minister of East African Community Affairs in Uganda Rt. Hon Dr. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga (MP) at the Ministry’s headquarters located on Nile Avenue. The two talked about bilateral trade between the two countries, economy performance among the East African Community partner states. China and Uganda established diplomatic relations in October 1962.
During the period of 1962-1985, bilateral relations witnessed a steady development in spite of the regime changes in Uganda.In 1971, Uganda supported China’s accession to the UN General Assembly. Bilateral relations between the two countries entered a new stage of development after the National Resistance Movement of Uganda came to power in 1986 with bilateral cooperation expanding and mutual high-level exchanges increasing.
