This afternoon, The 1stDPM|Minister for East African Community Affairs Uganda Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga (MP) was Chief Guest at the closing ceremony of the 1st National TVET Skills Exhibition that was at UICT, Nakawa. while addressing the congregation, the emeritus speaker of the 9th and 10th Parliament of Uganda assured the participants that the government of Uganda is to ensure that our TVET institutions sensitize local communities especially the youth and parents on the programs offered in these institutions. and as a minister of EAC in Uganda, The Minister reiterated the integration of countries in the East African Community in building critical and competitive skills that will drive industrial growth and the creation of wealth.
The government of Uganda recognizes TVET as an essential contributor to the prosperity of individuals and sustained economic growth and development of the country. currently, there are 146 government-aided TVET institutions and over 800 privately owned institutions.
