The Forum on China- Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) has since 2000 provided critical economic support to Uganda by encouraging 98% of taxable Ugandan exports to duty-free entry into China. This was noticed by Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga (MP) while delivering her keynote address at the welcome dinner that the minister organized for H.E LIU GUOZHONG, Vice Premier of the State Council of The People’s Republic of China, and his delegation. The woman member of parliament for Kamuli district further attributes Chinese companies for having undertaken serious contributions to Uganda’s transformation in Science and Technology and the construction sectors, with the example of the development of Uganda’s National Backbone Infrastructure by Huawei Technologies with some of the latest innovations such as the 5G to enhance connectivity among MDAs. H.E LIU GUOZHONG was in the country for the official opening of The Third South Summit -G77 taking place at Speke Resort Muyonyo with the theme “Leaving No One Behind”
