Production and Dissemination of Tourism influencer videos and digital stories in the EAC Partner States
PRODUCTION AND DISSEMINATION OF TOURISM INFLUENCER VIDEOS AND DIGITAL STORIES IN ALL SIX EAC PARTNER STATES RAISING AWARENESS OF LOCAL CITIZENS ABOUT THE OFFERINGS OF DOMESTIC AND REGIONAL TOURISM
The “Support to East African Market-Driven and People-Centred Integration” programme (SEAMPEC) supports an East African Community (EAC) integration process that focuses on the needs of the private sector as well as on social aspects. It is steered by the EAC Secretariat and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). SEAMPEC assists selected economic sectors in their implementation of regional agreements that improve framework conditions for increasing value-addition. Tourism is one of these sectors.
To support the recovery of the EAC tourism sector after a decline in international tourism due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the EAC is undertaking to raise the awareness of EAC Partner States’ citizens about the offerings of domestic and regional tourism. This is supported by the joint EAC- GIZ SEAMPEC programme.
It is in this context, GIZ wishes to engage a consultancy company to produce and disseminate marketing video clips jointly with influencers from all six Partner States and digital story telling video clips designed for Social Media and other channels as part of a regional media campaign on tourism. Developing and distributing high-quality content for all six EAC Partner States will raise awareness of local citizens about the available offerings and promotions, in turn increasing visitations and consumption of domestic and regional tourism attractions and sites. This way, communication measures will help to sustain tourism businesses within the region and restore confidence in the destination.
GIZ invites consultancy companies with knowledge, skills and experience in innovative communication and marketing techniques including development of video clips for digital story telling on Social Media as well as collaboration with influencers. Excellent knowledge of the tourism sector in the EAC Partner States is an upside.
