Developing and Conducting a Media Campaign on offerings of Domestic and Regional Tourism
Support to East African Market-Driven and People-Centred Integration (SEAMPEC)
DEVELOPING AND CONDUCTING A MEDIA CAMPAIGN INCLUDING ALL SIX EAC PARTNER STATES RAISING AWARENESS OF LOCAL CITIZENS ABOUT THE OFFERINGS OF DOMESTIC AND REGIONAL TOURISM
The “Support to East African Market-Driven and People-Centred Integration” programme (SEAMPEC) supports an East African Community (EAC) integration process that focuses on the needs of the private sector as well as on social aspects. It is steered by the EAC Secretariat and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). SEAMPEC assists selected economic sectors in their implementation of regional agreements that improve framework conditions for increasing value-addition. Tourism is one of these sectors.
To support the recovery of the EAC tourism sector after a decline in international tourism due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the EAC is undertaking to raise the awareness of EAC Partner States’ citizens about the offerings of domestic and regional tourism. This is supported by the joint EAC-GIZ SEAMPEC programme.
It is in this context, GIZ wishes to engage a consultancy company to develop, coordinate and conduct a large-scale media campaign including all six EAC Partner States raising awareness of local citizens about the available offerings and promotions to increase visitations and consumption of domestic and regional tourism attractions and sites. The consultancy will steer, run and coordinate the media campaign in close collaboration with the tourism sector stakeholders at Partner States level and the EAC Secretariat. Specific communication measures to be carried out by the consultancy include the development of communication materials such as high-quality TV commercials, radio spots, newspaper articles/advertising stories and social media content to tell the stories of the offers of the EAC tourism sector to regional and domestic tourists.
GIZ invites consultancy companies with knowledge, skills and experience in conducting large-scale media campaigns including strategy development and content creation for TV, radio, print and Social Media as well as procurement of broadcasting spaces.
