This morning, at the invitation of the Secretary General of the East African Community Secretariat, the Rt Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga fulfilled her duties outlined in the East African Community Act of 2002 by attending the 56th Extraordinary Council of East African Community Ministers. The meeting, which was conducted virtually to ensure inclusivity and participation despite geographical challenges, was convened specifically to engage in a detailed discussion regarding the financial status of the East African Community. The gathering aimed to address fiscal concerns, evaluate current financial strategies, and explore potential avenues for improving the community’s economic resilience and sustainability.
