RT. Hon Rebecca Kadaga Officially Opens High-Level Policy Dialogue on Education in Uganda.

One of the education policies in Uganda stipulates free compulsory Universal Education, Adult Literacy Education at the Secondary level to be provided to 30% of primary school leavers and higher education to be provided to 20% of those who complete Secondary. To support the already existing education policy in Uganda, recently cabinet approved the National Early Childhood Development and Education Policy.

This morning Rt. Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga (MP), represented Vice President Jessica Alupo and officially opened the High-Level Policy Dialogue on Education in Uganda, a function that took place at the President’s Office main conference hall in Kampala. Before presenting the Vice President’s speech, Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga urged the National Planning Authority to come up with a philosophical background on education in Uganda. The minister further spoke to the delegates about equality and access to education infrastructure and the need for good governance

In her speech presented by the 1DPM/Minister for East African Community Affairs Uganda Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga and Her Excellency Jessica Alupo hailed the Ministry of Education for bringing together all stakeholders to keep focus on matters of education because education is a key priority of Government and we must continually keep our focus on what is happening in this sector. Alupo further said that over the years, the government has seriously taken up the U.N challenge to ensure access to education for all citizens and as a country, we are challenged to provide equitable access to affordable quality education for all citizens.

The speaker emeritus of the 9th and 10th Parliament of Uganda, awarded certificates of appreciation to companies and agencies for their contribution towards the education sector in Uganda.
