Hon. Ikuya Magode Flags of Kiswahili Cadres to Tanzania

This morning, The Minister of State for the Ministry of East African Community Affairs Uganda, Hon Ikuya Magode represented The 1DPM/Minister for EAC Uganda, Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga addressed press members at the ministry’s head offices in Kingdom Kampala House. In her speech read by Hon. Ikuya Magode contained. My Office in partnership with the NRM Secretariat launched this Kiswahili Program last year on 13th September. We kick-started the pioneer class with 30 students, and I am delighted to inform the world that as of today, the class has grown to more than 700 learners who would converge at the NRM Headquarters every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 am-12:00 pm to learn Kiswahili. Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga said that while the learners were at Kyankwanzi, the learners were taken through various lessons including sustainable Leadership; the role of a Cadre in society; National Values and the revolutionary spirit; Nation Building; the Geography of Uganda and Economic opportunities therein; Political Economy; Financial Literacy; Environmental sustainability among others.

The 1DPM/Minister for East African Community Affairs in Uganda, also thanked the NRM Secretary General, Hon Twodong Richard for leading the front to establish and host the pioneer Class of Kiswahili and Public Speaking at the NRM Secretariat. And also thanked the Teachers and the Coordinators of the Kiswahili Program who were steering this great work. Hon Ikuya Magode together with Hon Richard Twodong flagged off the Kiswahili Cadres who are today traveling to Tanzania and Zanzibar.
