The Ministry of East African Community Affairs (MEACA)  is the Government of Uganda ministry responsible for steering Uganda’s regional integration agenda within the East African Community (EAC). Established in 2007 under Article 8(3a) of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community (as amended), the Ministry exists to ensure that Uganda participates fully in the EAC integration process and that the benefits of that integration reach every Ugandan household.

The EAC Heads of State Summit established the position of Ministers dedicated solely to EAC Affairs, based in each Partner State’s capital, to accelerate integration toward the East African Political Confederation. In Uganda, that responsibility rests with MEACA. We coordinate policy, lead negotiations, follow up on regional decisions, and work to ensure that the public, private sector, and civil society understand and participate in the integration journey.

To steer Uganda's regional integration agenda in accordance with the objectives of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community.
